Employee Provident Fund(Epf) Final Settlement (Claim Form 19) is an essential responsibility in every government, private and IT employees life. When you want to apply for Epf final settlement, few steps are mandatory. Let's have a look into the step by step process "How to Claim EPF Final Settlement" using Form 19.
Claim EPF Final Settlement - Form 19 |
- You should have a valid Employee UAN number to log in to the UAN Portal.
- You must link your mobile number to the UAN account by reaching your employer. Then only any trouble in log in to the Employee UAN portal can be resolved using the OTP.
- Add your PAN CARD and BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER to the UAN account by visiting the EPFO official website.
- All the above 3 steps will be done by your employer while opening the Epf account of the Employees. If not added contact your HR Team for more details.
- The remaining mandatory process will be in your hands to claim the Epf advance/pension withdrawal /final settlement.
- The remaining claim process includes linking Aadhar number and another bank account (Fresh Account) details if any. Check the below steps to link a bank account to EPF account.
- First You have to enter your Aadhar card number in the EPF Account by clicking on the KYC tab in the Epfo portal. Aadhar number will be accepted only if the Full Name and DOB match with the Full Name and DOB of Epfo account details mentioned by your employer. If any mismatch, an error message "Aadhar Authentication Failed" Error will be displayed.
- You can resolve the errors by updating your Aadhaar card details (Name, DOB, Mobile number) by reaching to the nearest post office or Eseva.
- You have to regularly check the Aadhar update status by visiting the UIDAI portal. After a successful update, you can reenter the Aadhar details in the Epfo portal. This time it will accept it.
- If you don't want the salaried bank account to get credited with the PF money, You can give any other bank account of yours.
- Note: The bank account name should match with your Epf account.
- After successful submission of Aadhar and Bank account details in Epfo portal leave it for the employer to approve.
- The other mandatory thing here is DOE(Date of Exit) from the service. If you have left your job or got terminated from the employment, DOE will not be shown in the portal sometimes due to the employer not updated the date of exit of your service in the Epfo portal. You can solve this problem by contacting the HR team of your employer. It won't take a long time to complete (just a few minutes, if your HR is kind-hearted).
- If your PAN, Aadhar, Bank account, and DOE(Date of Exit) are updated and approved, then you can claim the Epfo amount very easily by submitting online Claim forms(form 10C for pension withdrawal, form 19 for PF final settlement).
- Once you have submitted the claim online. The entire process will take 15 to 20 days to credit the PF money into your new bank account.
- You can check the claim status in the Epfo portal by clicking on the check claim status tab. When the Claim status shows 'claim settled' then you can get relax.
- The money will get deposited within the 3 days.

For final settlement, you will have to wait for two months from the date of resignation/exit from your services, which is called Waiting Period. After that, you will have to approach your employer who will give you some Forms(Form 19 and Form 10C) to fill in the required fields and to sign. You will be required to enclose proof of your bank account details and also your pan card copy(if it is mandatory). If you don't have pan card apply new pan card here. That's it. The remaining work will be done by your employer.
I agree with you. Thanks a lot.
